About
Emily B. Cochran is an experienced attorney who is passionate about delivering positive outcomes to her clients and being a positive person of influence with clients who are facing some of the most difficult times. Before joining the team at Owenby Law, P.A., she worked as an Associate Attorney at another local Family Law firm. In following her passion of providing a voice for children and families, Emily served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem with the Fourth Judicial Circuit for over five (5) years and a volunteer attorney for Missing Link of Jacksonville, Inc.
Prior to her practice as an attorney, Emily served as a certified legal intern at the Florida Coastal School of Law Family Law Clinic. In this capacity, she had the opportunity to represent indigent clients in both uncontested and contested family law matters including adoption, custody, paternity, guardianship, and more.
While Emily has been a member of the Owenby Law, P.A. team, she has handled over a hundred cases dealing with the dissolution of marriage, paternity, adoption, probate, child support, modification, and estate planning. She always has her client’s best interest at heart and will go the extra mile to ensure that she is by her client’s side when they need her most. Emily’s extensive family law knowledge along with her knack for helping others in a time of need, make her a great fit here at Owenby Law, P.A.
Emily completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Women’s Studies. She later earned her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she received the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Scholarship, completed over 850 pro bono hours, and served as President of he Family Law Society.
During her free time, Emily enjoys watching Ohio State Football, going to the beach, and spending time with her miniature schnauzers, Tressel and Scarlet.
