Migdalia Jordan
About
Migdalia Jordan is an Associate Attorney at Owenby Law, P.A., in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a go-to attorney for family law and divorce cases that involve children and their well-being, such as contested child custody cases or complex child support agreements.
Migdalia graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Political Science and International Affairs. She earned an M.A. in Social Work at Florida Atlantic University, which has been invaluable during the many cases she’s handled that involved the welfare of children. She completed her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law.
While an undergraduate student at Florida State University, Migdalia was a certified guardian for the 2nd Judicial Circuit of the Guardian Ad Litem Program in Florida. This program, which allows specialists and legal professionals to advocate in courtroom proceedings for the best interests of children who were alleged to be abused, neglected, or abandoned, sparked her passion for advocacy and cemented her decision to start a legal career. It also convinced her to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work, so she could advocate even better for children and their families in tough legal situations. Attorney Jordan considers the first guardianship case she worked on as a highlight of her career because it exemplified exactly why she completed her J.D.
When working on a case, Attorney Migdalia Jordan likes to use a dedicated approach that makes it clear to the client that she will work tirelessly on their behalf. She knows that they are depending on her to attain their legal goals. As someone with an eye for detail and a skill in organization, she enjoys handling all sorts of legal proceedings and processes, such as drafting civil pleadings and discovery requests, evaluating complaints, drafting family law agreements, and more.
Currently, Migdalia is a member of the Junior League of Jacksonville. The organization is comprised of “ women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.”
